Preparing for Your First TCM Visit: A Simple Guide

Coming for your first TCM appointment? Don't worry, it’s very straightforward! Here is a friendly, no-stress checklist to help you get ready for a smooth visit.

Before You Arrive
  1. Bring your medical reports: If you have recent blood test results, X-rays, or scan reports from a Western doctor, bring them along. Our physicians love reading them to get a clearer, safer picture of your health!

  2. Show us your meds: Snap a quick photo on your phone of the Western medicines, vitamins, or health supplements you take daily. Or, just toss the bottles in your bag and bring them with you.

  3. Dress comfy: Wear loose, comfortable clothing. It makes it much easier to roll up your sleeves or pant legs if your physician suggests acupuncture or a quick massage during your visit.
During Your Appointment
Your consultation is just a chat about your health. If you aren't sure what to say or ask, you can use these simple questions as a guide:
About Your Symptoms or Diagnosis About Your Treatment
  • What is the disease or condition?
  • How serious is my disease or condition and how will it affect my home and work life?
  • What is the short-term and long-term prognosis for my disease or condition?
  • What caused the disease or condition?
  • What are my treatment options?
  • How long will the treatment take?
  • What is the cost of the treatment?
  • Which treatment is most common for my disease or condition?
  • What side effects can I expect?
If You Need Further Investigations
Because your safety always comes first, there are times when our TCM practitioner might ask you to get a standard blood test or a scan before we start your treatment.
Think of it as a double safety check to make sure we are giving your body exactly what it needs!
Need to Reschedule or Cancel?
Life happens, and we completely understand! If you can’t make it to your appointment, don't worry at all. Just let us know at least one day before your appointment, and our team will be happy to help you move it to another date or time that works best for you.
